Attendance Rules for Conduct

Bear managers tin create attendance rules to tie tardies and absences to consequences. Rules are tied to specific schoolhouse levels and group types. Omnipresence types and Infractions must be created before adding translation rules.

Attendance managers determine if attendance is recorded per menses or per day. While a student tin can ever be marked equally absent for partial or multiple days, this setting determines the number of absences in the system, referred to every bit an Attendance of Tape. In Conduct, Omnipresence Rules look at Attendance of Record totals.

If attendance is recorded per period, the organization creates a record every time a pupil is marked equally absent or tardy. With this method, Attendance of Record totals are based on how many sections the educatee has missed.

If attendance is recorded per 24-hour interval, the school chooses specific classes or coming together times when a daily omnipresence is taken. If the student is present for this section, and is marked as absent later in the 24-hour interval, this absenteeism may not reverberate in Conduct. With this method, Attendance of Record totals are based on whether or not the student was absent or tardy when the daily attendance was recorded.

The Omnipresence of Tape totals are what cause Consequences to be issued.

Note: A educatee's Omnipresence of Record history can be viewed from the Academic Profile by selecting Attendance.

To get started:

  1. Navigate to Academics.

  2. Choose Carry and Conduct setup.

  3. Select Attendance rules.

  1. Cull the appropriate school level via Bear witness settings for.

  2. Select the edit icon.

  3. Nether Translating tardies, select Assign infractions based on tardies.

  4. Choose from the following:

    • Students are assigned infractions based on levels
      Unique infractions are assigned according to thresholds. For example, your school might have unlike consequences when a student hits 5, 10, and 15 tardies.

    • The same rules are used each time
      The same infraction is assigned every time a educatee receives a certain number of tardies. For example, your school might assign the same infraction to a pupil every v tardies.

  5. Select + Add another translation level or + Add together another translation dominion.

  6. Enter the number of entries to trigger an infraction.

  7. Choose the Tardy Reason.

  10. Under Calculate for, select whether entries should be counted by Term , Session, or Academic year.

  13. Enter the number of absence entries to trigger an infraction nether Every time they get.

  14. Cull the appropriate reasons by searching in the box labeled Absence reasons.

  15. Select the Infraction type to trigger.

  16. Optional: Select + Add another gear up of criteria to create additional entries.

  17. Select Salvage & Close. Calculations will run automatically as attendance is recorded for students. Infractions will display on the Infractions list.

  1. Select the advisable grouping type via Show settings for.

  2. Select the edit icon.

  3. Edit the rule(southward) for Translating tardies.
